A Place For Adults To Gain A Love of Learning.

The Pilotage Institute developed as a solution to the myriad of challenges facing the eastern region of the Dominican Republic. 

In a country where only 50% of the students that enter the first grade complete just four years of school, where the reading and math scores are the lowest in Latin America and the pressures of international tourism demand the highest service, real life skills learning is critical.  Education for adult learners has impact now and in the long run impacts the next generations. 

Pilotage Institute is unique. It is not a trade school.  It is not a university. 

It is  an international, cross-cultural and multi-lingual adult learning program.  All courses use innovative adult learning techniques and teaching methodologies.  The perspective is sensitive to the culture and economics of the people of the region.  Practical application of the knowledge is stressed.

Our students are from the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Russia, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and the United States. 

The Language track fits right where the need is - adult learning in areas that affect all areas of living.   Language - both English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and Spanish as a Second Language (SLL) gives our students an opportunity to build good learning habits and a chance of success with a very practical skills.  Money.  Time.  Work Ethic.  Quality of Work.  Self Worth.  Responsibility.

The Bible and Theology track gives pastors and leaders a place to investigate Biblical issues that are critical to the life of their churches.  The goal is for them to learn so they can impact their congregation and their communities.
