The word Pilotage is an international nautical term dating from 1618. A Pilotage
service is used by ships completing a passage to bring the ship safely into harbor.
The pilot has intimate knowledge of the local waters. He will not take control of the
ship but will work alongside the captain to bring the ship safely to habor.

issue tax-deductible receipts for gifts that advance its purposes. Contributions will be deductible only to the
extent no goods or services were received in exchange, and to the extent permitted by law.
In the Dominican Republic, Pilotage Republica Dominicana (PRD) is branch of Pilotage International. PRD is a
recognized non governmental organization (NGO) in the Dominican Republic.
